The evolution of Python, Java and others over time
In the first years taken as reference, 2004 and 2015, Python was not yet in first place, on the contrary! Java was in first place, in 2004, with over 30%. Until February 2016, this programming language never fell below 25% of the total. This is a different matter for PHP, second for many years, which was overtaken by Python in November 2015. From then on Python continued to climb until it reached first place in April 2018. Druante this month in fact Python has exceeded 22 percentage points overtaking Java that over time has fallen. Among the other programming languages it is interesting to note that Matlab is constantly between 2 and 3.5% (except in recent months where it fell below 2%).
