The cryptocurrency market from week to week continues to generate interest. They are in the last 24 hours the market voulme (a measure of how much of a cryptocurrency was traded in the last 24 hours) of Tether was $105,138,474,972 while for Bitcoin the figure is $46,532,747,062. A question that a lot of people are asking is which crypto to invest in 2021. Question whose answer is complicated (the article is not meant to be a suggestion on which Crypto to invest in). However, in today’s article we will see the trend of some parameters including market capitalization in 2021.
Top 10 Cryptocurrency 2021 by Market Capitalization
So let’s start by looking at a first data point. What are the top 10 Cryptocurrencies 2021 by market capitalization? As of April 25, 2021, according to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin is the top Crypto in the world by market capitalization. In fact, the capitalization is $915,955,943,256. In second place among the top 10 Cyrptocurrency of 2021 we find Ethereum (ETH) with a value of $267,780,847,561 and in third place Binance Coin with $77,495,435,715.
Among the top 10 cryptos by market capitalization on April 25, 2021 we also find Dogecoin. The Crypto whose logo graphically refers to an internet meme representing a Shiba Inu dog (born as a joke in 2013) to date is the seventh Crypto by market capitalization in the world. The value of Dogecoin by market capitalization is in fact $32,477,418,138. This position for example in front of even Litecoin that for years has been in the top positions and today is still in the top 10 Cryptocurrency 2021 by market capitalization with a value of $14,928,033,322.
Top Crypto by Market Capitalizazion and Price
In the chapter above we saw the evolution of the top 10 Cryptos by market capitalization. In this table you can see the top 50 Crypto in the world by market capitalization and relative price. In the table below instead the ranking will be made among the top Crypto by price. In general terms Bitcoin is the Crypto that has both the highest market capitalization as of April 28, 2021 (over $1 trillion) and the highest price. In fact, the price of Bitocin is almost $55,000. This price is definitely higher than all other Crypto. Maker, in 41st position by market capitalization, has a single value of $4349. Ethereum a value of $2659.
If we take the top Cryptos exclusively for price, without taking into account market capitalization, we see some differences. At the top we always find Bitcoin but at the second we find yearn.finance. The latter has a value of 49709 dollars. In third place as mentioned we find Maker with $4355 followed by Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Compund and Binance Coin.
Dogecoin price
As of April 28, 2021, Dogecoin is the sixth largest crypto in the world by market capitalization. It is valued at almost 42 billion. As of today, the price of Dogecoin is $0.32. But how has it evolved over time?
To get a better idea of what happened let’s try to compare the price of Dogecoin in 2019 versus 2021. Until the end the gap between 2019 and 2021 was basically constant. If in January 2019 the price of Dogecoin was about $0.002, in 2021 this was $0.007. A gap of more than three times. The price therefore, for those who had bought this Crypto, increased a lot. But since the end of January and throughout February, the price of Dogecoin 2021 has skyrocketed. In fact, in a very short time Dogecoin reached values between 4 and 7 cents on the dollar. This variation between 2019 and 2021 became even larger when in April the value of Dogecoin’s price soared to 40 cents on the dollar.
