Nuclear power in Ukraine

Ukraine has been a nuclear power country for many years. Ukraine is often linked to the Chernobyl disaster. In 1986 one of the most important accidents occurred in the northern part of the country. The Chernobyl nuclear accident, which occurred at reactor number 4, is considered the worst nuclear disaster to date, both in terms of casualties and costs.
